• The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting constituted an Animation, Visual


Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) Promotion Task Force and will submit its
first action plan within 90 days.

The AVGC Promotion Task Force shall be headed by Secretary, Ministry of


Information & Broadcasting and will have Secretaries of

1. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship;


2. Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education;
3. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and
4. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

• The Task Force also includes State Governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra,
and Telangana; heads of education bodies such as the All India Council of

• Among industry partners, the AVGC task force has named Biren Ghosh,
country head, Technicolor India; Ashish Kulkarni, founder, Punaryug Artvision

HDFC Bank as preferred bankers for Air India. Recently Tata Group
has taken over Air India from the government. Air India is the largest
international carrier out of India with an 18.6% market share. Tata
Sons have availed of a Rs 10,000-crore loan from SBI and a Rs
5,000-crore loan from BoB.

• Tata Group company, Tata Steel Long Products Ltd’s (TSLP) has
acquired Odisha-based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) for Rs
12,100 crore. Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) is a steel plant
located in Kalinganagar in Odisha and was shut in March 2020 due
to continued losses.

• The government of India officially handed over India’s flag carrier, Air
India to the Tata Group on January 27, 2022, almost 69 years after
acquiring the conglomerate. The total value of the deal is Rs 18,000
crore (US$2.4 billion).

• The board of Tata Sons Pvt Ltd has approved the re-appointment of
N Chandrasekaran as the Executive Chairman of the company for
the second five years term. Chandrasekaran’s current tenure as the
chairman was to expire at the end of February 2022.

• Madagascar has become the 30th country to join the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure which was launched by
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September 2019.

• CDRI is a partnership of national governments, UN agencies and programmes, multilateral development banks and
financing mechanisms, the private sector, and knowledge institutions.

• CDRI now has 30 members, including 23 national governments and 7 organizations, as of April 2022.

• The Headquarters of CDRI secretariat is New Delhi, India.

• The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) is the annual conference of the CDRI.

• The Indian embassy in Kathmandu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the
construction of the Khumjung Khunde Wastewater Management Project with the Ministry of
Federal Affairs and General Administration and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality,
Soulukhumbu, Nepal.

• This is a community development project that will be built under the India-Nepal Development
Cooperation, with financial support from the Indian government, at a total estimated cost of Nepali
Rupees 41.13 million.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese colleague Sher Bahadur Deuba
met in New Delhi, initiating a number of projects and signing four important
agreements across a variety of fields. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) and
Nepal Oil Corporation Ltd. signed agreements on Nepal becoming the 105th
member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), technical cooperation in
railways, petroleum product delivery, and technical experience sharing in the

Convention Center to give loan up to Rs 50 Lakhs with subsidized interest rate
for self-employment.

• It is implemented by the Madhya Pradesh’s Department of Micro, Small and


Medium Enterprises.

• The government will give 3 percent interest subsidy and bank loan guarantee
fee for a maximum period of 7 years in the form of financial assistance to the
beneficiaries of “Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojna”.

• A New self-employment scheme, youths of the state who have passed 12th and
are in 18 to 40 age group will get 1 lakh to 50 lakh rupees for manufacturing
activities and Rs 1 lakh to 25 lakh for service/business activities.

• The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has contributed an amount of
USD 72,124 towards the UNESCO Fund for Elimination of Doping in Sport 2022.

• As per the resolution of 7COP held at Paris between 29-31 September 2019, the State Parties
had agreed for contributing 1% of the regular budget of their respective nations to UNESCO
towards the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.

• In 2021, India contributed USD 28,172 towards the UNESCO Fund.

• The contributed fund will be used to support the implementation of the Fund’s Operational
Strategy 2020-2025.

‘One Health’ pilot project launched by

• The Government of India’s Department of Animal Husbandry and
Dairying has launched a pilot project in Uttarakhand to implement
the One Health Framework through the One Health Support Unit.

• The Unit’s main goal is to create a national One Health roadmap


based on the lessons learned during the pilot project’s deployment.

• The implementation of the One Health Support Unit would be led by


an inter-ministerial One Health committee chaired by the Principal
Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.

• Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, said administrative
approval has been accorded by the Government for five new sites for locating nuclear power
plants in the future.

• The government has also provided financial sanctions for the construction of 10 indigenously
made 700 Mega Watt Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) that are to be set up in fleet
mode.

• By 2031, the country’s nuclear capacity is expected to reach 22,480 Mega Watt.

• At present, there are 22 reactors that are operational in the country with a total capacity of 6,780
Mega Watt.

• Also, 10 reactors are in various stages of construction at present and they will be adding a total
capacity of 8,000 Mega Watt after their completion.

Gujarat government’s Mission School of Excellence project.

• It aims to improve education quality in the state, will receive a loan worth Rs
7,500 crore.

Mission School of Excellence initiative, which would cover all 35,133
government and 5,847 grant-in-aid schools in the state.
