Classification Class I
In all classes, subject to the special provisions for each class and the tolerances allowed. the
avocados must be:
Intemal pressure
• intact
• sound; produce affected by rotting or deterioration such as to make it unfit for
consumptioefwn is excluded
• clean. practically free of any visible foreign matter
• practically free from pests
• free from damage caused by pests afecting the flesh
• free from ewfdamage caused by low temperature
• having a stalk not more than 10 mm in length which must be cut off cleanly. However,

The development ewfewand state of maturity of the avocados must be such as to enable them
to continue thfewffweir ripening process and to reach a satisfactory degree of ripeness.
The fruit should have a minimum dry matter content, to be measured by drying to constant
weight: 23-30%.
