1. In what year did we have the least number of disasters? And in what year did we have the
most?

We had the least amount of disasters occurred in 2009 totaling 191 disasters (natural and man-
made) and most amount in 2012 totaling 471 disasters.

2. In what year did we have the most number of fatality? And in what year was the least?

The most fatality we had was on 2013 totaling 6,877 and least amount of fatality was on 2007
with no fatalities recorded from disasters.

3. Which year did we have the most economic losses? And the least?

The year we had the most economic losses was 2014 with a total of 78.6 million pesos and the
least economic loss was during 2007 with no recorded economic losses.

4. Which year did we have the largest number of individuals affected because of the disasters?
And which year has the least?

The year we had the largest number of affected people was 2014 with 39.9 million people
affected while 2007 has the least number of people affected with 4.2 million individuals affected.

5. What can be implied from the trend shown in the data shown below? Explain your answer.

It can imply that the number of disasters occurred in a year isn’t proportionate to the damages it
incur. The disaster response of the authorities, the preparedness of the citizens, as well as the magnitude
of the disaster are huge factors in the statistics shown in the image; therefore, the data will fluctuate
whenever there’s a change in any of those three whether it be positive or a negative. However, it will
steadily increase as the population increases; the bigger the population, the longer and harder it is to
educate and help them; and the bigger the population, the bigger the resources lost, either to the disaster
or by helping those affected by it.
