Verify that users that should have access to the site can access it.
Verify that users that shouldn't have access to the site cannot access the site.
Verify appropriate users can also access a page within the Web site by entering the direct
URL into the page. Enter direct URL.
Verify inappropriate users cannot access specific pages by entering the direct URL into the
page. Enter direct URL.
Verify the Web Service is functioning properly if one exists with your web site.
Verify the Ticker's/Scrolling Banner Functionality
Verify the functionality for any pop up calendars. (including selecting a date and saving to the
database)
Create, Update and Delete data into the database through the web page

Verify the database is being populated correctly after data is entered into the web page.
Verify the functionality of any drop down lists and that the contents are complete.
Check appearance and functionality of pages using the following browsers: (list browsers to
be tested) Verify there are no errors; all headers, links, titles, buttons, tables, and graphics
display correctly.
Print Web page in each browser version and check to see that the Web page matches
identically.
Verify correct Web page content displays for each specific user (different types of users may
see different page content).

Check verbiage, grammar and spell check. Is the Web page clear and easy to read?
Verify that static content matches Design Documents.
Does the screen come up properly, are the graphics clear, concise and correct.
Verify that images on the page are correct (per project specifications).
Verify Font and Font size uniform with other pages. (list font name(s) and font size(s) used: )
Verify that links to PDFs launch in Adobe Acrobat Reader. (list versions of Adobe Acrobat
Reader to be tested: )
Verify that the PDF document is correct per project specifications.

Verify that links to Excel documents launch in Excel. (list versions of Excel to be tested: )
Verify that the Excel document is correct per project specifications.
Verify that any links that should launch an email client do so correctly, and that the email is
sent to the correct recipient.
If the Web page is being updated, do screen prints of the previous Web page. Compare the
new Web page with the previous Web page screen shots. Verify that the only differences
between the old Web page and the new Web page are the changes that were made per
project specifications.

Are you able to navigate easily through the site? Do the links branch to the proper pages?
Are colors, font, graphics, headers, footers consistent? Check for uniformity and
consistency.
Check to see that navigating the web site (on a Network connection) takes a reasonable
amount of time based on page or query that is being called or executed. (Acceptable time to
be defined by the project team)

Compare the Web page against the design document or a "mock-up" or an approved copy of
how the Web page should be designed. If none is given, ask developer for what they were
given to code from. Verify new Web page matches the approved document/mock-up.
Verify error messages meet standards. Create errors, verify error messages are
grammatically correct along with appropriate spelling. Error messages should also make
sense to the user.
Verify that all date fields follow the correct format (per project specifications). Also verify that
a check for invalid dates exists, for example, 02/14/2016, and check for leap-year situations,
if applicable.

Verify that all email address fields follow the correct format (per project specifications).
(Example: Verify that an email address is required to have 3 characters after the '.' as in
'.com', '.net', etc, that it may have two '.' in the address, as in
'dealer@dealership.dealership.com', and that the '@' sign is required)

Verify that all phone number fields follow the correct format (per project specifications).
Verify that all zip code fields follow the correct format (per project specifications). (Example:
Verify that US zip code fields require 5 digits (or 9 including the '+4') & Canadian zip code
fields require 6 digits).

Verify that all dollar amount fields follow the correct format per project specifications.
Verify that numeric fields accept only the numeric values per project specifications (numbers
only).
Verify that alphnumeric fields accept data types per project specifications (numbers, letters,
characters).
Verify that any non-static data on the page (pulled from a database) is correct.
Check to see that if a field is null the page shows the correct format for the field. For
example, if null fields and numeric fields are being added together for a total, verify that the
null is calculated as a zero.
