1) The document provides safety guidelines for handling hippo cylinders, which include not rolling, dropping, or throwing cylinders and only lifting from the designated hook or trolley.
2) It describes the process for replacing an empty hippo cylinder, which involves closing valves, disconnecting the quick release coupling, moving the empty cylinder, connecting the filled cylinder, and reopening valves to refill the system.
3) Trained personnel should carefully follow the specified steps to safely replace cylinders using the appropriate equipment like a scissor lift or trolley.

2 Do not drop or throw Hippo cylinder. 3 keep hippo cylinder away from fire a stroke 4 Hippo cylinders do not lift from the V.P. ring. 5 Use only the hook provided to lift the Hippo cylinder. 6 Not Spill with Any types of Hippo Cylinder Mounted Actuator Valve V Quick Release. 7 For loading and unloading of Hippo cylinder, use carefully scissor lift, crane or forklift etc. 8 Continuously attach the test report of the cylinder while sending it to Hippo cylinder plant.
how to replace empty hippo cylinder
Replacement of empty Hippo cylinders with filled Hippo cylinder will be done by trained person. Before starting loading/unloading of Hippo cylinders from the truck, ensure that the platform of the delivery truck is in line with the civil platform/scissor lift of the gas bank. Make sure the pallet trolley and scissor lift are working properly. The sequence of activities to be followed while replacing an empty Hippo cylinder is as follows Close the isolation valve of the empty Hippo cylinder of manifold. Close the actuator of the Hippo cylinder and the liquid outlet ball valve of the LPG hose. Now carefully separate the quick release coupling(QRC). Place the pellet trolley under the empty Hippo cylinder and lift the cylinder slowly. Move the empty Hippo cylinder to one side so that the filled Hippo is not in the way of the cylinder. Keep the filled Hippo cylinder securely in the correct position near the manifold. Now connect the filled Hippo cylinder through quick release coupling. Ensure that quick release couplings, hoses are properly connected on manifold. Open the liquid outlet ball valve of the Hippo cylinder actuator and manifold. Check the leakage from the coupling and actuator by pouring soapy water. Open the isolation valve on the manifold. Now load the empty hippo cylinder back into the truck.
