Filling of the Storage tank from Mobile tanker

 SICGIL'S Tanker Driver is trained for unloading Mobile tanker as per procedure
mention below.

 Park the mobile tanker at the hard stand and chock the wheels of the vehicle.

 Ensure that the hoses are free from any out side contamination like water, mud or any
other unwanted materials.

 Connect the liquid and vapour hoses between tanks and between liquid transfer pump
and mobile tanker using safety harness.

 Hand over the ignition key of the vehicle to the authorized person and take his
clearance before starting the Loading / Unloading operation.

 Equalize the tank pressures, by opening the vapour valves on both the tanks. This
operation should be done gradually, while ensuring that there are no leaks. (Normally
according to purity requirement of client, If they wish, they do purging of hose pipe. If
not done, it doesn’t affect the total purity of Co2. Hose pipe volume is approximately 8
liters, If hose pipe air is mixed during transfer of Co2, And before mixing if purity is
99.95 %, after mixing purity will reduce to 99.94986%).

 In case leakage is found on Hose connections, depressurize hose then only try to
attend the leakage.

 Open the liquid valves on both the tanks, again confirming that there are no leaks.
Allow the pump casing to cool down to the operating temperature, before starting the
transfer pump. Confirm direction of rotation of the pump. During first time filling, as a
first step transfer gaseous Co2 from mobile tanker to storage tank ensuring storage
tank is having minimum pressure of 10 kg/cm2 – ideally above 5 kg/cm2 – above triple
point. Once storage tank pressure is above triple point slowly liquid Co2 has to be
transferred from mobile tank to storage tank. After transferring approximately 1.5 to 2.0
MT of liquid Co2, wait for 10 – 15 minutes, Liquid Co2 will immediately start boiling and
tank pressure will increase. Observe there should not be any abnormal pressure rise,
 being in warm vessel cold liquid Co2 is transferred. Transfer entire liquid Co2 in steps
of 1.5 to 2.0 tons. Competent Engineer from SICGIL will be present during first time
filling.

 Authorized person should remain at the spot while the liquid is being transferred and
monitor the pump operation and tank pressure, till the mobile tanker is empty.

 Stop the pump after confirming that the entire product has been transferred. Then
close the liquid Co2 valves on storage tank liquid charging line & liquid Co2 out let
valve of mobile tanker, and release the pressure from the hose by opening the drain
valves. (By touching hose pipe it can be experienced that liquid Co2 is flowing or not ?
Also transfer pump motor amps will come down once mobile tanker is empty and liquid
Co2 is not passing through Pump)

 Ensure that Liquid level in storage tank has to be less than 90 % of tank volume.

 Close the vapour valves of both the mobile tank & storage tank and release the
pressure from the hose by opening the drain valves. Ensure that the hoses are in a
flexible condition. (Any valve can be closed first, either mobile tanker or storage tank,
no difference with change of sequence)

 Disconnect both the hoses after confirming that the hoses are empty.
