Which is the most important cultural identifier or feature that defines

your cultural identity? First, discuss your ideas in groups of four. Then
decide on the most important feature and write an essay of 180-250
words.
Academically, cultural identity is a part of a person's identity, or their
self-conception and self-perception, and is related
to nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality, or any
kind of social group that has its own distinct culture. In a way, it can simply
be expressed by the language we use, the food we eat, or the clothing we
wear on special occasions. In my view, the most important cultural identifier
is festivals.
Festivals can be defined as special occasions that occur in a particular
area. People can celebrate or commemorate a religious event in festivals.
They are often related to the religious beliefs of a specific group of people to
express gratitude to the Gods and the ancestors for good harvests, fortune,
and happiness.
At festivals, native people often wear special clothes, eat special food,
and do special rituals. Like in Vietnam, we have Tet, the most popular
traditional festival. We can have some special cuisine on this occasion such
as Banh Chung, Banh day,... and wear the traditional costume of Vietnam,
Ao Dai. We also can reunite with our families and worship our ancestors, the
god of wealth, and the kitchen god ( known as Ong Tao ) on the Tet holiday.
In conclusion, with the growth of society, cultural identity can be easily
faded. We must exchange culture with various places by taking part in their
festivals and introducing our country's festivals to others. This can helps to
identify, share, and preserve cultures.
