Mitsubishi Diagnostic Trouble Code Retrieval

Mitsubishi Pajero NK & Montero 3.5 V6 (Not USA Models) 1996-1997

Fault Codes are not OBDII type. The DLC (diagnostic connector) is located under the dash on the drivers side. GST (Generic Scan Tool) will not communicate with this model.

The Two Digit Fault Codes are read as flashes of the Check Engine Lamp. There will be an initial pause of 3 Seconds before the Codes are output. Long Flashes (1.5 Seconds) represent the Tens. Short Flashes (0.5 Seconds) represent the Units. There will be a 2 Seconds pause between the Tens and Units. If No Codes are in Memory, the Check Engine Lamp will flash at 0.5 Second intervals (System Pass Code).

Manual Fault Code Extraction: 1. Connect Terminal #1 on the Diagnostic Connector to Ground. 2. Switch ignition to the on position. 3. Read codes as flashes of the Check Engine Lamp.
