Organizational Structure
As a line bureau, MGB is composed of a Central Office and fifteen (15) Regional Offices situated in
‘major regional center in the country. Its Central Office is headed by a Director and its Regional Office is
headed by a Regional Director. The Central Office Director reports directly to the Secretary of Depart-
ment of Environment and Natural Resources, and at the same time, exercises administrative supervision
over its various Regional Offices.
At the regional level, an MGB Regional Director is autonomous from the DENR Regional Office / Re-
gional Executive Director. A coordinative relationship, however, exist between them insofar as planning
and implementation of DENR national programs that involve MGB’s functions and expertise are con-
cerned.
