• Harmonic Support Tool suite used to configure, manage, and support the MediaGrid.
• The Omneon MediaGrid Support Tool (OMG) is a collection of scripts managed from a
single command interface.

Once OMG is installed, type ‘bash’ to create the new shell environment and you will see
the color of the user id and hostname change to be prefixed as <userid>@<hostname> [
<directory ],
After installing OMG it will copy all the scripts in /opt/omg directory. Before upgrading
OMG tools first remove the old version
When you uninstall OMG it does not remove any of the logs, backups or data gathered. It
leaves that information in the /omneon/omg directory.
After installing OMG, when you login over SSH to a Mediagrid server it will show a new shell
“Message Of The Day (MOTD)”.
Please refer to the accompanying “OMG Administrative Guide” for full details on usage of this utility
‘omg backup’ command is used to backup and/or restore the configuration of a CLD. This may be used after a re-image of a CLD, or CLD
replacement.
For example: user can backup the content director by simple typing command ‘omg backup cld –b’ on ssh root prompt.
