1. How did the main character John Nash personality change from the first third of the movie?

What was his personality like?  How did the main character see himself? He will did he
interact with others?

John Nash is very open to his friend Charles to who he reveals that he is better off
dealing with numbers than dealing with people. His social skills are not very good,
especially how he is planning to pick up girls from the local bar. In the first third of the movie
this was a time when he was working towards his doctorate at Princeton University. During
that time Nash has not falling in love yet. He had also taken note of the person that are
intellectually able like him. During this period he had not cured mental illness, however he
viewed himself as a person who was right as he had not encountered any person who could
challenge his way of thinking. Josh Nash is portrayed as a focused student who just survived
the wrath of the second world war they are shown the peak of the brilliance of john Nash this
was not the case in the first third of the movie as he challenges dealing with people

2. Describe John and Alicia's relationship. What are the things that attract them to each other?
What do you think are the most important elements of a good relationship? How does a strong
foundation enable their relationship to continue during tough times?

John and Alicia’s relationship was unbelievable because falling in love with an
instructor that was genius was kinda rare and hard to fight but the love of Alicia was
unstoppable and one a good example of a good couple. They’re like a candle and a match
Alicia gives light to john’s life. Alicia is a gorgeous lady and an aggressive one, being
aggressive is what john’s find her so attractive while Alicia’s attracted to john because he is a
genius until their love grows.
The most important elements of a relationship are love, respect, understanding,
patience, commitment and courage. John and Alicia’s son keeps their relationship standing
but the strong foundation that enable them to retain and fight their relationship is their love
and courage that they stick and fight together in tough times.

3. Describe the setting in this film. How do these settings contribute to themes related to the
continuous pursuit of knowledge?

In the 1950s and 1960s, when science and mathematics were popular, the scene is set
in Ivy League universities on the east coast of the United States. Einstein was revered on
campus. It acknowledges that humans have a natural desire to discover, gain knowledge, and
develop, and it inspires us to do so by paying attention to the principles and objectives that
motivate us. The settings was match to the theme of the movie that was love, desire and
uncovering the hidden secret. Its aim is to entertain, to enlighten, and it does this perfectly
well. Russell Crowe produces probably his best performance to date and is equally
convincing as both the awkward young genius and the tortured convalescent, struggling to
rebuild his marriage and career. However, a scientist's mind can be beautiful. It is because, in
this lesson, we get to know about another aspect of his life. His other side that he believes in
humanity. Moreover, he advocates world peace, non-violence his entire life.

4. What are some specific behaviors Nash exhibits that alert Alicia of a problem?
How does Alicia support her husband through this episode? What would you have done?
Explain your Answer?

Alicia help the doctor to know the works of Nash for them to be able to know how
much of what he’s saying was real and how much is not.
Alicia enter to Nash’s office to get to the bottom of all the claims about the classified works
and stunned for what she saw. Nash scan newspapers and magazines to find hidden Russians
codes and leave into the secret mail drop box to be received by William Parcher and Alicia
visited the place where he drop those files and Alicia saw that place was completely
abandoned and found the letterbox with unopened classified envelops and that’s how Alicia
knew that her husband was sick that William Parcher was just her husband hallucination not
just Parcher but also Nash Roommate and his roommate niece.
Alicia didn’t leave john instead she help her husband to fight his sickness believing
that he will overcome it and she said to her husband “ I need to believe, that something
extraordinary is possible”. If i were Alicia I will do the same because love is all about
commitment.

5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Nash's anti-psychotic medications? What are
the consequences of Nash's family for getting off his medications? Why do you think it is so
difficult to keep mentally ill patients on their medications?

Nash's antipsychotic drugs have the benefit of changing brain chemistry, which can
lessen or eliminate psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and odd
behavior. As a result, Nash may feel more stable and productive. It may also stop those
symptoms from recurring or from being so bothersome and intense. The use of Nash's
antipsychotic drug causes many unfavorable effects, including dulled intellect, slow
perceptions and emotions, and sexual dysfunction.Lack of awareness of the illness is the main
barrier keeping people with mental illness from taking their prescriptions. He discovers, like
Nash, that the drug impairs his ability to think clearly, and like many other people with
mental illness, he experiences this.
A few of his depressive emotions, like trouble focusing, social withdrawal, and lack
of enthusiasm, are not sufficiently addressed by the drugs. Nash's wife, Alicia, feels burdened
by the idea of trying to provide for her man if his condition worsens, as well as caring for
their kid since Nash isn't in the best frame of mind to do so. Withdrawing from his anti -
psychotic medication caused Nash's delusions to come back, and as a result, he lost the ability
to maintain healthy or adequate psychological defenses. It’s difficult to keep mentally ill
patients on their medications because they are not aware of their illness and insisting that
there’s nothing wrong with them.

6. Who is William Parcher? Why does Nash think he was selected by Parcher for this
important mission? Compare reality  to Nash's perceptions. What do you think motivates
Nash's delusions? How is Nash able to conceal his delusions up to this point?
William Parcher is high level agent in the department of defense that lived through
Nash hallucination .Nash acknowledges that his schizophrenia served as an escape for him to
feel thrilled and believe he was the most important person in the world, capable at any
moment of receiving a barrage of communications bringing him mathematical insight. Nash
started to question his delusions rationally, insisting that they provide evidence for them. In
this way, he was able to recognize over time that the illusions were not realistic and could be
attributed to a portion of his mind that did not demand immediate attention and Nash also ask
to other person if do you see him/ her and that’s the time Nash will interact.
