ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

Ovary- small, oval-shaped glands located on either side of your


uterus.The gonad of female reproductive system which produces an
ovum for fertilization

as channels for oocyte transport and fertilization
Uterus - an upside-down pear, with a thick lining and muscular walls,

Vagina- a muscular canal that extends from the vulva to the neck of
the uterus (cervix). provides a passageway for blood and mucosal
tissue from the uterus during a woman's monthly period.
Fimbriae - finger-like projections on the ends of your fallopian tubes

Inner ovarian ligament - connects the uterus to the ovary in the female
body.
Uterine fundus - host a fertilized embryo as it grows into a baby
Cervical canal - small canal that connects your uterus and vagina,
transports sperm into the uterine cavity, allows the escape of blood
from the uterus during menstruation, and supplies mucus (a thick
lubricating protein) to the female reproductive tract.
Cervix - a muscular, tunnel-like organ. It's the lower part of your
uterus, and it connects your uterus and vagina allowing fluids to pass
between your uterus and vagina
