ENHGLISH DEPARTMENT
Discussion: Indian workers earn only $.75 an hour; if we allow

India to export as much as it likes, our workers will be forced

down to the same level. You can’t import a $10 shirt without

importing the $.75 wage that goes with it.

I totally agree with this idea. I think people should not support

companies who pay their labor or supply chain unreasonably.

The more we buy their products or services, the more

exploitations are happening in this company, especially in their

factories. Business is not a single way action without other side

effects. When we conduct our purchase, we are aligned with all

things what the suppliers do. In order to stop this power

violence, we should only do business with the reliable suppliers

providing a comfortable working condition including decent

wage.

There is a saying: “As you sow, so shall you reap.” Workers with

a lower quality of life will not be able to do work of good

quality. There will be a vicious circle of the production process,

which will affect sales as well. Giving employees a decent wage

is not increasing the cost of a product, but an investment with an

appreciable return on investment. I really like the ideas of

sustainability and SDG goals, the improvement of the

governance inside of the company is as important as the

marketing management or the promotion of the sales.

Personally, I hope profits made by business should be shared

with all people who work for it. All workers, with the exception

of some senior managers deserve a better pay.
