Any time during character creation, refer to the Innkeeper Stats table on p.55
and roll for each stat: Body, Heart, and Mind.
Some of the Hit and Miss entries just show +1 or -1 Forward with no
Stat. Are these entries intended to be without a stat and if so what does
the + or - apply to?
Any time this occurs it applies to the next roll. Because no stat is noted, “-1
Forward” would mean you take -1 on your next task whatever it may be.
There was misprint and so the Story Threads are missing from the main text.
They can be found on page 5 of the random tables pdf.
Does “Starting Gold” refer to rolling for gold at the start of a session, or
the start the inn?
"Starting Gold" refers to when you create your inn. Whenever you create a
new inn you receive 4d6 in starting gold. Certain effects can lead to losing or
gaining gold, but this is not the same as rolling for you "starting gold" and you
do not roll 4d6 at the start of the session.
Yup! This was an oversight on my part. So until we get a revised print done,
just give it the ol re-roll!

If I have the Barrow Saddle, can I use it for questing at any time?
No. The wording on the Barrow Saddle says “another quest,” which means
you must have already done the Quest action. You can quest again for free by
spending the Saddle.
On page 25 it’s explained that a hit on any Common Guest (including the
Local Hero) means that they can be made regular patrons of your inn.
Regulars are then added to your log. When you roll a 6 on Common Guest
and you have a regular, you can roll the task for them. The task becomes HX
where X is the Regular’s level. On a hit you roll tips as many times as their
level as well.
