MEETING SUMMARY:
It is possible to come up with a lot of ideas quickly by using the brainstorming approach. In our opinion
brainstorming is a useful tool because:
1. Different viewpoints: By allowing for the exchange of different ideas and perspectives,
brainstorming can produce a greater variety of potential solutions to an issue.
2. Increased creativity: Brainstorming promotes originality and helps individuals to think outside
the box, which results in new responses to problems.
3. Effective problem-solving: Brainstorming helps teams to explore and assess many alternatives
before deciding on the best one.
4. Improved communication: Brainstorming helps team members communicate and work
together.
As a group, we feel below are a few challenges we faced with brainstorming sessions:
1. Dominance: Certain team members may predominate the conversation, which discourages
involvement from others.
2. Lack of structure: Brainstorming sessions may lose their focus or fail to produce results if there
are no defined rules or objectives.
3. Time restrictions: A lack of time may prohibit all team members from participating fully or from
exploring all their ideas.
4. Language difficulties, different communication styles, and other hindrances might make
brainstorming less successful.
To increase the effectiveness of collaboration between us Humber students, we can use more online
tools like Zoom calls with built-in whiteboards or Google jamboard to share different ideas. Moreover,
teachers could reduce the instances of academic misconduct on assignments and tests by providing
clear guidelines and using plagiarism detection software.
We believed that students might encourage others to use their creativity by:
1. Establishing a community where people feel comfortable discussing and experimenting with
new ideas by creating a secure and encouraging atmosphere.
2. Set an example for others to follow by showcasing innovation in your work.
3. Value other viewpoints.
4. Able to work together with coworkers, colleagues, and teams.
