STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

After crossing my 10 years of school, I was admitted into a renowned college in my country to
complete my 11th and 12th class education and successively achieved my Higher-secondary School
Certificate (HSC) with outstanding results with a major concentration in science (especially
Biology). My goal is to achieve a Bsc degree from a reputed institution with world-class professors,
outstanding learning opportunities and want to pave my way to be a Geneticist or Biotechnologist,
something The Department of Genetics or Biotechnology or Biology has to offer.

My educational background matches with the qualifications sought for the proposed Bachelor
Degree programme. While my previous education equipped me with adequate knowledge about the
basics of Biology and Chemistry, I am learning meticulously about fundamentals of Biotechnology in
the online foundation course provided by many top ranked universities. As I studied in a reputed
college of my country for my 11th and 12th grade education, I got suitable opportunities to excel my
practical skills in every science subject. For that reason, I am confident that I possess something and
I might be able to express that power by contributing to the research of the University of Pécs.

I believe in one quote by a comic writer, "What you seek is seeking you." I believe success is waving
at me, I need to find the best way where I will not get any distractions, obstacles, thus I can be
self-satisfied with what I have achieved. University of Pécs is one of the most impressive
institutions with multi diverse departments, qualified professors with research expertise, beautiful
campus, accomodation and scope of interacting with friends playing games or many social activities.
Where else would I find these remarkable opportunities and environment to enrich my knowledge ?
Where else other than the Hungary, would I find the peaceful society, government that I always
want?

I got my first inspiration of becoming a geneticist when I was in class-9, reading about the invention
of DNA by Watson and Crick. Later, this desire was implemented into my heart strongly when I
became aware of a new technology called CRISPR Cas-9 technology, a promising way to cure such
deadly disease from molecular level. Moreover, a big portion of genetics still remains in vogue
which serves my interest to apply to this programme. I want to participate in this journey to
discover that unknown part, thus I want to contribute myself to the improvement of society. From
this motivation, I have participated in several study tours to a university laboratory where I
experienced an ongoing research on some Anticancer and Antibacterial medicines, which
encourages me more to apply.

I am a compatible student with knowledge in Biology and Chemistry, computer programming

languages and I am confident that I can learn extensively as well as contribute to the diverse and
multidisciplinary learning environment of the Department of Biotechnology or Biology. The offered
Bachelor programme seeks the correlation between theory and application of all types of Genetic
Engineering and Biotechnology which serves my interest in research. The University of Pécs’s
distinct niche in research of Biotechnology encourages me to apply to this degree. This Bachelor
position will undoubtedly give me the perfect opportunity to fulfill my academic and professional
goals.
