WEEK-9 PRESENTATION

Talk about your research paper.

INSTRUCTIONS
Design a PPT of 4-5 slides maximum.
Your presentation will be 3-4 minutes maximum, and include the following:
1. research title and purpose
2. outline of the paper, describe each chapter in one single sentence
3. what you have done so far
4. what problems you have encountered
5. your plan to overcome the problems and finish the paper when the course ends
If it is a co-authored research paper, both/all the authors will share the presentation. In this case,
1. presenters’ names should appear in the first slide
2. the first presenter should introduce other presenters before they take turns presenting

Things to remember:
 Do not pack your slides with information. Do not put too many words in a slide.
 Do not read from slides: The slides are for listeners, not for you. You are presenting, not
reading. Instead, what is in a slide should be a very brief summary of what you are
saying. Therefore, what you are saying should be a paraphrase of what listeners can see
in slides. Talk as if you do not see the slides. Just ignore them.
 Turn on your webcam showing your full face when you are presenting.
 Do not begin a sentence with “About.”
 Do not exceed the time limit. You will be timed, and will be asked to end the presentation
when you have reached 4 minutes of talking time. So write the presentation script and
practice presenting several times in advance to make sure you include everything within
4 minutes.
Failing to comply with the instructions will negatively affect your grade.
