Development of Knowledges/Skills: Through this process, I get some skills by learning more about how the technology impacts the adolescent’s mental health and it was mostly about how they are not socializing more and that has a very big impact on their life and if they start doing more of the social connection and development, then they will have less social problems and will have more confidents. I developed skills in understanding feeling not connected to others will have lasting negative consequences on adolescents physical and mental health, which can also lead them to some sort of illness. For example, COVID-19, it had a very bad influence on everyone especially teenagers because they had to do physical distancing, removing many regular sources of social connection from their lives and more. Purpose/Validity: This source is relevant to my topic since I am researching to get more information about the affect of using technology on adolescent’s mental health. As my question is How can the use of technology impact the mental health of adolescent, using this source I learnt that how COVID-19 had a very bad impact on adolescent’s mental/social health. Expanding my knowledge and understanding about using of technology can impact the mental health of adolescent using this source will allow me for a better understanding of how exactly it will affect them and what will be the short and long term affects. Credibility: This source was published in August of 2020, which means it’s kind of based on a recent information and is still can be relevant. This website is accurate because it is based on a book of science which I think is very reliable and usually websites that are from a primary sources are more accurate and reliable rather than most of the secondary sources. The author of this source is listed some different kinds of doctors which shows its credibility. The fact that this source was just published few years ago, it can still be reliable, and people can still use it. Although, this information was in so much depth and extra information’s about stuff that I don’t really need, but still it supported me a lot to understand just the basic generals. This means that when I take furthermore research, I will be able to find more in-depth information and important information. Relevance: This information is relevant to my refined question as it discussed about bad use of technology on adolescent’s mental and social health. This source is very effective as I will add this to my outcome because this could be the prove in my outcome that there are very negative use of technology and it will affect them eventually. Furthermore, this source mentions how there are different consequences on using technology more than being social, the consequences can be getting depressed, anxiety, mentally ill by cyberbullying and more (DPhil, 2020).This allows adolescents to understand that being social is better than being addicted to technology. Bias: I don’t assume that this source is biased because of the author’s personal perspective and point of view. The information is basically about all the negative use of technology and how it can impact adolescents, for example how social distancing affect the mental health of adolescents, which I think is not very powerful as of telling the adolescents to not use much of technology anymore. The unbiased discussion in this source is that it has a different source and is based on evidence from a book and doctors. Capabilities: During this source, I was able to develop my Critical and Creative Thinking and The Personal and Social capabilities. I developed my Critical and Creative Thinking by learning new skill and then applying it to this source of information and I also understood a range of different sources from useful websites. My Personal and Social skills were developed through this source as I was planning goals to achieve this task on time which I think I completed it on time and developed this capability. I used my Critical and Creative Thinking skill to develop furthermore information on this task from different range of sources and I used my Personal and Social skill to plan a personal goal so that I could complete this task on time and this is how I developed and improved my capabilities.
