LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 7 – MATHEMATICS

Quarter: Third
Date: February 27, 2023
Time/Day: Monday
12:45 PM – 1:45 PM Escuro
1:45 PM – 2:45 PM Quisumbing

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to define first degree
equation in one variable and solve equations using the addition and
multiplication principles.

A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts

of linear equations in one variable.
B. Performance Standard: The learner is able to investigate, analyze, and
solve problems involving linear equations in one variable by applying the
addition and multiplication principles.
C. Learning Competencies
1. Define first degree equation in one variable.
2. Find the solution set of a simple equation in one variable from the given
replacement set.
3. Solve equation using the addition and multiplication principles.

II. SUBJECT MATTER: Chapter 5: Linear Equations in One Variable

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

Reference: Grade 7 Mathematics
Pattern and Practicalities pp. 272-284

IV. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer - Volunteer from the class
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Checking of Assignment
B. 4A’s Approach
1. Activity: Solve the following equations. Check your solutions.
1. 5 x+ 17=3 x +5
2. 9 y−2= y−10
3. 5 ( y−1 )=3 y +7
4. 4 ( 3 m+6 )−3 ( 2 m+ 9 )=9
5. 5 ( 3 x−7 )−4 ( 2 x−5 )=−8
2. Analysis:
Analyze the equation and find the LCD:
1. Solve and check: 2 ( x+5 )=42−3 ( x + 4 )
2x x 1
2. Solve and check: −4+ = −
3 6 2
3. Abstraction: “Find those missing!”
- Let the students present their solution to the board with short
explanation.
- The teacher will show to the class the process in solving linear
equations in one variable.
- The teacher shall give additional examples.
4. Application: “Guess my number”
I have a number. If you increase it by 3, multiply the sum by 5, and
subtract 10 from the product, the result is 25. Can you guess my
number?
V. EVALUATION:
Complete each statement by writing the missing word/phrase in each blank.
Nos. 1-10, pg. 285
VI. ASSIGNMENT:
Solve and check.
1. x +9=4
2. 12− y =15
3. 7=3+ z
2
4. x=4
3
3
5. y=15
4
