The Tamilnadu High Court conducted written exams over 4 papers for 185 civil judge positions. Over 10,000 candidates applied and nearly 7,000 appeared. The exams have been graded and 460 candidates who met the minimum thresholds by category have been selected for an upcoming interview. The results will be posted online on May 3rd with registration numbers and scores of all exam takers as well as those selected for interviews. Interview notices will be sent out starting May 7th and candidates are asked to watch for their notice.

In pursuance of the Notification issued by the Government of
Tamilnadu on 21st January 2012 for filling up 185 posts of Civil Judges (Junior Division), the High Court conducted written examinations in 4 papers on 24th and 25th March 2012. About 10,443 candidates applied and 8,895 candidates were issued with hall tickets. Of them, 6,702 candidates appeared in all 4 papers. The process of valuation of all their answer papers is now completed and a total of 460 candidates have been shortlisted for viva voce scheduled to commence in the last week of this month.
As per paragraphs 5 and 9 of the Notification (i) all SC/ST
candidates who have secured 30 marks and above in each of the 4 papers (ii) all BC/MBC & DC candidates who have secured 35 marks and above in each of the 4 papers and (iii) all general category candidates who have secured 40 marks and above in each of the 4 papers have been shortlisted for viva voce.
In the website of the High Court “hcmadras.tn.nic.in” the results
of the written examination are being hosted on 3rd May 2012. They are hosted in the following format:
1. A list containing the registration numbers of all the 6,702
candidates who appeared in all 4 papers, together with the marks secured by them in all the 4 papers and their grand total. .….2 .. 2..
2. A list containing the registration numbers of all the 460 candidates
who have qualified for viva voce, namely, (i) all the SC/ST candidates who have secured 30 marks in all the papers, (ii) all MBC & DC and BC category candidates who have secured 35 marks in all the papers and (iii) all General category candidates who have secured 40 marks in all the 4 papers. The marks secured by each of them in all the papers and their total will also be indicated therein.
The process of sending interview cards will commence on and from
7th May 2012. Candidates who have qualified for viva voce are requested to be vigilant so as to ensure that they receive the hall tickets sufficiently in advance.
