Evergreen forests are also
known as tropical rain forests.
LOCATION: DELTAS OF
GANGA, GODAVARI,
MAHANADI AND YAMUNA.
SUMMARY
• There are four main types of forests
in India. Evergreen, Deciduous,
Mountain, and Thorn Forests.
• Evergreen Forests are also called
tropical rain forests.
• They do not shed their leaves
seasonally.
• Deciduous forests are also called
monsoon forests.
• They shed their leaves at the
beginning of the summer season.
• Mangrove forests are type of
deciduous forests growing along
the coastal habitats.
