CHERRY BUCKET HAT:

CROCHET PATTERN
Beginner Friendly

SIZE MATERIALS
This hat is worked in one (adult) size DK Weight yarn (Pink-100g, Red-25g
only, but the size can be adjusted either and Green-25g)
by reducing (for a smaller hat) or 4.5 mm crochet hook

INSTRUCTIONS
Top of the Hat (Working in Spirals)
Make a slip knot and ch 4 (the first 3 chs
from the hook counts as the first dc)
Rnd 1: into the first ch (a.k.a the 4th ch
from the hook) work 1 dc, work 8 more
dc into the same ch space. [10 dc]
Rnd 2: 2 dc in first st (first st is the 3
chs), 2 dc each into all the rem sts. [20
dc]
Rnd 3: 1 dc in first st, *2 dc in second st, 1
dc in third st, rep from * till end of rnd.
[30 dc]
Rnd 4: 1 dc in first st, 1 dc in next st, *2
dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2
sts, rep from * till end of rnd. [40 dc]
Rnd 5: 1 dc in first three sts, *2 dc in next
st, 1 dc in next 3 sts, rep from * till end of
rnd. [50 dc]
Rnd 6: 1 dc in first four sts, *2 dc in next

NOTE: You can continue to make
increase rounds if you are making for a
larger size, or make less increase rounds

Body and Brim of the Hat
Rnd 11-17: 1 dc into all the sts. [100 dc]
Rnd 18: rep rnd 3. [150 dc]
Rnd 19: rep rnd 4. [200 dc]
To fasten off, 1 dc in first st, 1 hdc in next
st, 1 sc in nest st, ss in next st, make 1 ch,
cut yarn and weave in lose end with a
yarn needle.
The Cherries (Make 7-10 pieces)
Using the red yarn and a 4.5 mm hook,
make a slip knot and ch 4 (the first 3 chs
from the hook counts as the first dc)
Rnd 1: into the first ch (a.k.a the 4th ch
from the hook) work 1 dc, work 8 more
dc into the same ch space (you’ll have a
total of 10 dc sts), fasten off and make
another circle.
The leaf of the cherries
Using the green yarn, insert your hook
into one of the red circle and pull up a
loop, ch 8.
Working back along that ch, skip the first
ch and work 1 hdc in the next ch, 1 dc in
the next ch, 1 sc in the next st, 1 ss in the
next st (we’ve just created one leaf), ch 5,
skip the first ch and work 1 hdc in the
next ch, 1 dc in the next ch, 1 sc in the
next st, 1 ss in the next st (we’ve created
the second leaf). Join the two leafs at the
bottom by making a ss at the base, ch 3,
ss into the second red circle to connect
it. Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew
the cherries on to the hat.
Assembling
Thread the long tail of the cherry onto a
yarn needle, place the cherry on the hat
and sew along the edges of the cherry by
inserting the needle back and forth. After
sewing, make a knot on the inside of the
hat to hide it and fasten off.
Repeat this for all the cherry pieces.
Fasten off your work and weave in all
loose ends.
