Moral versus Non-Moral Standards

1. “Not all rules are moral rules or standard”. Give three differences moral standards and non-
moral standards.
2. Enumerate 5 examples of moral standards and 5 examples of non-moral standard.
3. Recall a past experience that you consider as moral dilemma. Briefly explain why is it a moral
dilemma and not just any other dilemmas.

Answer:

1. Morality is rooted in the law of God while adultery for God is immoral/non-moral.
Moral standards means right or wrong and Non-moral means right or wrong by the Law.
Moral standards is our values while Non-Moral standards is invented or said by a legislative
bodies.

“Respect others”
“Speak the truth”
Non-Moral Standards
“Do not speak while your mouth is full”
“Do not kill if you do not want to go to jail”
“Speed limits”
“Dress codes”
“Rape is a crime”
4. Back when I was about to enroll my first year college and then we had a financial problem I have
to choose between my studies or to help my family and work. That time it is pretty hard to
choose because I need it both but in the end I ended up delaying my studies so I can help my
family.
