Direction: After you have learned about the life of our National hero, write him a letter.

Your letter may

Contain appreciation or contradictions of his work. You may include describing the youth of today, how

Are we doing or how far have we gone from his time. If he could have been alive, what would you ask of

Him to tell the youth? Do not forget who is writing the note.

Dear Dr. Jose Rizal,

Its only over 20 years that I’ve been in this chaotic world, it was just a few years ago that I’ve
known some facts about you. You truly are a great hero of our country and everyone should at least
show pure gratitude of the freedom you gave to our country with your literary creations which is filled
with integrity and is indeed candid. Though December 30 is renowned as the day you bid farewell to this
world that some of my age forgotten about you since this world is changing little by little. Shameful, I as
one of them cant fathom the depths of your greatness but I’d at least like to offer this letter to you, the
hope of our fatherland.

If you are watching us from above with our Almighty Father, you might be very disappointed
and displeased, for the country that you fought with the Spaniards is getting worse and obviously
chaotic. The changes that happened in our country is all because of you but some takes it for granted.
You once awaken the sleeping nationalism and patriotism of the Filipinos but now some is exaggeratedly
showing their own point of view. However, with your guiding principles that you’ve left for everybody,
I’m sure we wont be completely lost because you are just an amazing hero and hope our fatherland.

“Some act in bad faith, through levity, through want of sound judgment, through limitation in reasoning
power, ignorance of the past, or other cause. Some repeat What they have heard, without, examination
or reflection; others speak Through pessimism or are impelled by that human characteristic which Paints
as perfect everything that belongs to oneself and defective Whatever belongs to another. But it cannot
be denied that there are Some who worship truth, or if not truth itself at least the semblance thereof,
which is truth in the mind of the crowd.” -Dr. Jose Rizal

You said it yourself that there are still Filipinos who are responsible, maybe not as great as you
but are willing to take risk for our country. Its all because of your sacrifices that we already have
freedom in our country. Its all because of your brave actions that our country is moved by its
countrymen. You moved the entire nation. Though we’re plunge into chaos at the moment, the freedom
and rights we have right now is irreplaceable. Life is short. But we can give meaning to it. And you taught
that to us. The unparalleled loyalty and patriotism you’ve shown to our country are the torch that lights
our way. The world may be darker today and surely it will not be long when our country falls into that
abyss. When that time comes, your guiding principle will surely help us. The change we will cause in the
near future will be for the good of the fellowmen, our friends and family, and for the betterment of the
country. We may not need to die to achieve those things like the other men in your times, but we will
surely offer our life to search for other means to achieve these long-term dreams in our own way. Now
on behalf of my fellow youth, I thank you from the deepest recesses of my heart.

Dr. Jose Rizal, rest assured that the freedom you strived and fought so hard to achieve will
never be put in vain. May you watch over us, inspire us, and enlighten us to the path that we will be
taking onwards. You are the testament of the Philippine's history. A worthy hero of all times.
