CHAPTER I

Proposed Name

Bubble milk tea is one of the popular drinks in this generation and most youngsters love

to drink it once in a while. (Bastasa, 2022) In 2022, the Philippines became the second-most

populous country in Southeast Asia regarding bubble tea users. Milk tea shop business is

growing since it can easily spot on every corner of the street in the country; however, before

the boom reached a year, a pandemic halted every operation on every establishment. So, since

we are getting back to our normal lifestyle, we planned to start a milk tea shop business.

Gumamelas are copious in the world especially in tropical regions, just like our country. It

looks beautiful and it has varieties of color and appearance. The creation of gumamela-flavored

milk tea was made with the intention of assisting people in increasing their income through

creative, affordable, and easily accessible sources. The name of the proposed business is

“Hibiscus Milk Tea”. “Hibiscus” is a scientific name for gumamela flower.

History

Our Heritage Our story begins in 2020 along the Rodriguez street of Baclaran,

Paranaque. It was here where the owner Mr. Saban opened the first store of Hibiscus Tea,

offering the Hibiscus tea, commonly known as gumamela in the Philippines, is a four-feet

shrub with large five-petal flowers. Because of its beauty, it is a choice ornamental flower for

Filipinos. Our company name was inspired by the gumamela itself. A year later, people would

walk through these doors and become captivated with Hibiscus Tea after their first sip. Aside

from the health benefits it gives, it has a subtle flavor and is also rich in antioxidants beating

the green tea. Also the gumamela flower comes in many colors and symbols: red as love and

passion, yellow as happiness, pink as friendships, and other color combinations. With the

company’s success we were able to make small improvements in the store’s capacity and

uniforms; we are looking forward to our next chapter as a tea house. Hibiscus Tea Shop would

soon expand to Metro Point, EDSA and to SM moa seaside. By the following years we will

reach to open more store in malls and have social standing to promote or increase awareness of

our product and services. We would grow to welcome millions of customers and become a part

of the fabric of tens of thousand of neighborhoods all around the Philippines. In everything we

do, we are always dedicated to our Mission and Vision.

Proposed Project/Business Location

The partners will rent a space in a free lot along the Rodriguez street of Baclaran,

Paranaque is just a short stroll from residential houses, schools, and other business

establishments. The young professionals, students, and local residents who live close to the

firm are its main target markets.
