During Antarctic Supply mission a Dutch cargo ship was damaged by running aground on a
shoal.

Minor damage to ballast tank was suffered by General Cargo Ship “HAPPY DIAMOND” after
running aground on a shoal off Mawson Station, Antarctica, and is no returning to Hobart. It was
understood that the grounding took place om Feb. 18, 2023, she managed to refloat in about an
hour. Earlier the ship was resupplied by Australia’s Casey and Davis Station in Antarctica.

was announced at the press conference in Manila on the 2 nd of February by the US defense secretary
Lloyd Austin.. This news is likely to increase tension between US and China and this new deal has not

CMA CGM has confirmed via social media that one of its ships, the “CMA CGM Marco Polo” has been
fitted with a “windshield.” The change is expected to improve the ship’s aerodynamics and fuel
efficiency. The “windshield” is made of a curved metal surface that is attached to the ship’s bow. The
company stated that it took six months to develop and apply the “windshield.” They also stated that if
the results are positive, the same feature will be applied to all other CMA CGM vessels.

Sunstone’s New Expedition Cruise Ship is constructed by China Merchant Heavy Industry

China Merchant Heavy Industry (CMHI) in Haimen, China is proceeding with the construction of an
infinity class ship for Sunstone. Ulstein Design and Solutions which designed the ship, has reported that
the contract for the vessel has been finalized. A timeline for the construction and delivery of the ship has
not been released.
