Hello Sir. Myself Uday Gupta. I am from Visakhapatnam.

I have done my
bachelor's at Shiv Nadar university with a major in electrical engineering and a
minor in management. There I got an opportunity to do some of the finance
courses such as managerial accounting, security analysis and portfolio
management. And that's where I found my interest in finance and joined IFMR,
a college known for finance. At IFMR, in this one-year tenure, I secured
fellowship programme by DESHAW, university affiliation scholarship
programme by CFA summer internship programme by JP Morgan.

As said earlier, I got a summer internship offer at JP Morgan .which if

converted, I would be joining as a credit risk analyst. In the first 5 years of my
corporate career, I would like to explore all the opportunities that I come across
and find where my interest lies. In 5 years many do reach the position of credit
risk associate. I aim one step further I.e. vice president position in the credit
risk domain.

After my plus 2, In my first semester of the bachelor's programme, many things

were happening in and out of the curriculum. classes, assignments, projects, lab
work, clubs and committees and suddenly exams come up- quizzes, midterms,
endterms. Till then I used to be like, Do it perfectly, consistently or just give it
up. so I couldn't manage things and ended up getting a CGPA of 5/10 but later
on developed this ability to manage multiple things and not just give up on
them, like they say- the game is not over till the last ball is bowled and
improved my CGPA to 8/10 which is a very good number in our electrical
department.

While I was preparing for competitive exams, I used to set targets and work
towards them and when I couldn’t achieve them it used to demotivate me and
decrease my performance further down, there is a cumulative effect. So I learnt
the importance of setting realisable targets or rather build your process keeping
your end goal in mind and follow that process religiously without focusing
much on results. When our process is concrete, results automatically follow.

In the next 12 months, I plan to learn the basics of trading and work on my Ms
excel and swimming skills.
