The Reading Challenge is a full-year, 40-week reading program 

for middle and high

school English language arts teachers that includes instruction, narrative stories, and
weekly escape-style challenges to improve students' reading comprehension and
analysis in nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and drama. This comprehensive and standards-
based program will also improve problem-solving and critical thinking skills.  

How do each of the challenges work?

1. Start by using the Google Slides to guide you through each element
of the lesson and activity. The slides will help you teach the reading
concept, introduce the story and challenge, and review the answers.
2. Read the narrative story as a class to hook students and introduce
the challenge.
3. Once you have taught the reading concept and read the story,
students are ready to try the digital eading challenge!
4. When students find the answer, they can input the answer into the
password-protected PDF file to reveal the conclusion slides to wrap
up the story.

 TEACHER INSTRUCTIONS
Below are some instructions for how to access your purchase and share it with your
students. Just a note that although this is a digital resource, please know that it is for
personal classroom use for only you and your students to share via email, Google Drive, or
Google Classroom. It violates your terms of use to upload this resource online where it
can be accessed by the general public.

Sharing The Assignment With Your Students:

When you click the links, you’ll go to a screen that says "Copy document."  Click
the blue button that says "Make a copy" to transfer this file to your own Google
Drive account. If you have multiple Google accounts, make sure you are logged
into the account where you want the files to be copied. This will also make it easier
to know where to find the files later.

Once all of your students have their own Google account, share the appropriate link
with them and have them make their own copy into their own Google Drive. You
can share the link in Google Classroom, via email, or even simply by writing it on the
board in front of your class and have students input the url into a web browser. Once
all students have completed their work, you can either have them submit the work to
you privately, or you can simply share the answer key with them or use the
presentation slides to review the work with them.
