DEPARTURE ALTERNATE

Departure weather airport must be such a return to land can be made using an
instrument approach for which the flight crew are qualified (Above APP minima), if not
DEPARTURE ALTERNATE must be within 427 NM A320

DESTINATION ALTERNATE
(Company Procedures Handbook V 1.0)

1 alternate if weather conditions 1 HOUR before / 1 HOUR after the expected arrival will
be at or above the ALTERNATE PLANNING MINIMA for expected runway.

2 alternates are required when:

- Destination weather forecast (Not including TEMPO) is less than minima for
the expected approach time.
- Destination weather forecast 1 HOUR before / 1 HOUR after ETA weather will
be below minima.
- No WX forecasted for destination.

If destination alternate nos published and no prohibition exist for using the airport as an
IFR planning alternate:

- Precision approach: Ceiling 600 ft Vis 3.0Km


- Non precision approach: Ceiling 800 ft Vis 3.0Km

2 alternates are required


- 1st Alternate Forecast At or above OPERATING MINIMA
- 2nd At or above ALTERNATE PLANNING MINIMA

(Recommended as landing configuration)
• With visual conditions and aircraft within the circling areas at or above MDA
announce “CIRCLING”
• Once circling visual references must be in sight, at any time visual references
are lost missed approach must be executed.
• Minimum visibility for circling is 6000 mts (6.0 kms)
