Importance of Mathematics in Life

According to Katie Kim (2015), Math is a subject that makes students either
jump for joy or rip their hair out. However, math is inescapable as you become an
adult in the real word. From calculating complicated algorithms to counting down
the days till the next Game of Thrones episode, math is versatile and important,
no matter how hard it is to admit.

Given the list of reasons below, explain why learning math is important to you

1. Restaurant Tipping
Learning Mathematics is very important to me and to everybody
because through mathematics we know how to budget our money and how
we should spend it. For example, in a restaurant tipping, through math we
know how much we spent in food or services and plus the tip we give to
them. And at the end of the working hours through the help and the idea of
a mathematics people know how to divide shares and distribute the certain
amount to workers.

2. Netflix film viewing

In Netflix film viewing, in order we can watch and avail their
movies, we should pay or subscribe to them first. Nowadays there
is a tactics and although Netflix company might not know about
this, they made business out of it. In each account there is certain
people shares on one account, and through mathematics they
know how to divide the amount and set price to each people
availing on it. Overall, the idea of this Netflix business is all
because of the mathematics, they know how to calculate and set
price on a much affordable way in availing Netflix.
3. Calculating bills
In calculating bills, mathematics plays a very important role.
Through mathematics we know how much we used utilities in a
month and how much it cost on that certain month. In a rental
place (house or rooms), tenants don’t usually know how much
their bills is, and the bills were sent once every house or building.
Through mathematics we know how to compute and calculate
and divide the amount of bills to every tenant based on their
consumption on utilities. That is why mathematics plays a very
important role in calculating bills especially in utilities expense.

4. Computing test scores

In computing test results, it is very important to know the
average we got on every subjects. Through the help of
mathematics, we know how to compute our scores and getting
the average of that certain score and its subject also. The
outcome scores after been identified and calculated will be then
set as a basis to overall performances of a student. It is also help
in making evaluation to students to make better performances in
the test results and on the future examination.

5. Tracking career
Mathematics plays an important role in tracking career.
Through math it helps people identify and track their career path.
Mathematics set as a measurement to identify what career path
 should take for example in Highschool, they take “NCAE” or the
National Career Assessment Examination, this examination it
measures the knowledge and the skills of a student. It helps
students what courses is suitable to take in college and what
career they want on the future.

6. Doing exercise
In doing exercise there is a number involved into it, and if
we say number automatically it talks about mathematics. In doing
exercise there is a certain measurement that we need to consider
in order not to overdo exercising and to consider our health
conditions. For example, in doing exercise we need to measure
the heart rate and the type of exercise you do. In running it helps
you to identify the kilometers and how far you made. And
everything necessary measures in doing exercises.

7. Handling money
In handling money, the mathematics also plays a very
important role because it helps us to budget money. Mathematics
help us to identify how much money we have and how we spend
it. It also helps us to manage money and to know what is
necessary and deserve to buy. It helps us to compute the overall
expenses and the overall money that has been used.

8. Making countdowns
Knowing the basic math is very important just like counting
1 to 100 and so on. Without the basic mathematics it would be so
hard to us to identify how much is that or even in counting. The
main purpose of a countdown timer is to create a sense of
 urgency and give the feeling that “time is running out.” So when
you said countdown we know that it involves number, which is
numbers belongs to mathematics.

9. Baking and cooking

In baking and cooking we need to know and aware the
measurements used to have a perfect recipe. So, with the help in
math and the tools used in measuring ingredients we can create a
product or an outcome. Through mathematics we know how
much to put in an ingredients and what measures to use. Through
mathematics and the perfect measurements, you can create a
nice, beautiful, and delicious pastries and foods.

10. Surfing internet

In surfing internet especially on prepaid data, there is only
limited GB to use or need to consume in a specific time and date
depending to subscription you avail. Through mathematics we
know how to divide or the limit we need to use every day. We
also know how to compute and identify what best subscription to
choose, especially an affordable subscription but many benefits.
