Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is an American comedy-drama film about the life of Forrest Gump, a
kindhearted man with an IQ of 75 who witnesses and unwittingly influences several
defining historical events in the 20th-century United States. Directed by Robert
Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth, the cast includes Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary
Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field.
Forrest Gump is a pure man with a sincere love for his childhood friend Jenny. He
lacks the love of his father, but is deeply loved and protected by his mother. He had an
unhappy childhood because his friends thought he was an obnoxious freak. However,
his meeting with Jenny planted a seed in his heart, causing it to slowly sprout without
realizing it. After that, Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, finding a real
friend called Bubba. Followed by a series of memorable days in his life.
The cast is excellent, Tom Hanks' innocent and gentle face captured my heart. The
scene he defies everything and rushes into the bomb area to save his teammates is a
bright spot of the film. Besides, the effect of this scene is also enhanced by the music
which contributes to the atmosphere of fierce war. There are so many profound
lessons conveyed through Forrest's life that it makes me cry almost as much as the
entire movie. This was a well-written script.
Summing up, Forrest Gump is a film well worth seeing. This film will change the way
you think about the Vietnam war. Don’t miss it!
