PRESS RELEASE

SWATCH PRESENTS SWATCH FACES 2022

AT THE 59th INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION
LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA
BIEL, FEBRUARY 2022

Passionately committed in supporting contemporary art, Swatch will proudly

return as main partner of the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di
Venezia, for the sixth consecutive time. The Swiss watchmaker, whose passion
for artists and their work is a vital brand pillar, will showcase artworks in
both venues of the most important event on the international art calendar.
At Arsenale’s Sale d’Armi, Swatch Faces will host the works of former Swatch
Art Peace Hotel artists-in-residence, and at Giardini THE DESCRIPTION OF
THE WORLD, a site-specific installation will be exhibited, created by Thai artist
Navin Rawanchaikul.

From Shanghai to Venice: Since its opening in November 2011, the Swatch Art
Peace Hotel has welcomed more than 450 artists-in-residence from 54 countries
around the world. With the aim to encourage creative exchange, artists from all
disciplines are invited to live and work in apartments and workshops, for a period
of three to six months, in a landmark building in Shanghai. Swatch Faces 2022
will present a selection of artists from this unique artist residency.

Swatch has invited Navin Rawanchaikul to the Giardini, where the Thai artist
will create THE DESCRIPTION OF THE WORLD, a site-specific installation.
The artwork will for sure be a surprising and very pop statement, engaging and
storytelling as ever.

As it has been a tradition for a few editions now, Swatch will also present a
Swatch Art Special edition, as well as a watch design inspired by the visual
identity of the Biennale Arte 2022.
