Assignment 2
Have you ever felt that you were about to drown? it was the worst experience of my
whole life. About 6 years ago I had this experience on a trip to the beach. In this essay, i will
describe what happened and what I learned from it.
It was a beautiful day at the beach, I was with my family walking to the seashore and it
was very hot I felt the sun burning my skin, so my uncle and I decided that it was a good idea
to go swimming in the sea because we saw the sea was as calm as a millpond but we never
realized that the flag was black, that means that the sea is dangerous at that time and that al-
though it looks calm it can cause disasters, we were having a very good time feeling the sand
under my feet and the sun on my skin and the fresh air, a moment after a big wave hit us on
the back and we rolled on the sea once we get to the surface another wave hit us again, I felt
like my legs got all over my body and just in the moment they touched my head I felt some-
thing on my back had broken but you don´t drown by falling in the water, you drown by
staying there and that was my case because I could not move, I was desperate I did not know
where it was above or where it was below, I began to feel the salt stung my eyes and as the
water entered my throat it could not resist even one minute more, it was my uncle who saved
me, he took me out of the sea and called my aunt who is a doctor, they helped me to breathe
again and little by little I was feeling my legs and my arms again, once I was better they took
me to the hospital where they took me An X-rays to my back and realized that by the moving
so abrupt that I had done I had fractured a vertebra and they recommended me absolute rest,
fortunately it was the last day and I was able to enjoyed my vacations.
I learned that you need to bee more careful in the sea, you need to respect when the
flags are in some colors and you need to be sure that someone knows that you are swimming,
so if something happens to you this person will be able to do something or find help.
