4: Classifying Polynomial Functions

Classify functions given a table or an equation

Degree of polynomial expression is the highest exponent in the expression we can then relate this too
Polynomial Functions since Polynomial Expression can be changed into a polynomial function when
writing the expression in the form of an equation

Because of this relationship, the degree of a polynomial expression is the same as the degree of the
corresponding polynomial function.

The f(x) is what makes it a function but the rest of the terms are still considered an expression

- (Just added on f of x equals to the polynomial expression to make it a polynomial function)

A polynomial function is classified according to its degree.

Making connections between finite differences and the degree of a function.

The relationship between the degree of a polynomial function and the constant differences.

Differences between consecutive y values are called finite differences. Add!!

Finite differences help us classify polynomials depending on whether the first, second, third, or forth
differences are the same.
