PERU, AN INTERESTING COUNTRY

Peru is an important country in south America that in the past was a great center of ancient
civilizations like: Incas, Moche, Chavin, Chimu and Nazca. This civilizations have left
many vestiges, ruins and artifacts, which nowadays we can visit to learn about indigenous
culture and our roots. Also, in Peru, we will find beautiful landscapes, nature and
diversity. So, I think this is a good place to get away.

The typical food is definitely the Peruvian Ceviche, that is a very known seadfood that
contains raw fish marinated with herbs. The most important beverage is Chicha, that is a
drink made of stale corn and Pisco, the national drink of Peru, that is a kind of brandy
made with grapes and lime juice.

In the area of tourist attractions we can find sites like: Machu Pichu, the remains of an
ancient indigenous settlement, here it is advisable that we should make hiking and
trekking in the mountains. Colca Canyon, is another amazing place to visit, so, we could
travel to the souththern of Peru to see this big attraction, with an awesome sight (nothing
to envy to the Grand Canyon in USA), the best thing here is that we can look for the
condors that surely will be flying near to us.
Another amazing place to visit would be Chan Chan: the largest city in pre-Columbian
America, This place is a vestige of the ancient civilization that lived here; a very
impressive and interesting place to find out.

When we talked about travel and expenditure, we have to take into account the unforeseen
events that could entail in the trip, so, I think that we can cut back on our needs and travel
with $2.000.000 each one.

Visa / passport: You just need the updated passport.

Before set up this travel, we have to know that the Peruvian currency is called “sol” and
one of this is the same as $699.49 Colombian currency. So, work out the cost!

The principal customs here are: The carnival, that is celebrated on February in many
Peruvian cities, the disguise, the color and music are the main themes in carnival. Besides,
in Peru we can know about the feast of Inti Raimy, that is celebrated on june 24 th in
Cusco, in honor of the sun god.

Finally, I think that as a good citizen, we must do the same things that we do in our
country: be respectful, be honest and be cautious and we should think over about avoid
walk about alone, and carry on many packages. Remember that we shall enjoy the trip,
so, hang in my friend!

MY IDEAL TRIP

Without doubt, I think that we should go to Peru, the country of diversity, because there
we can find all that we need to see and to enjoy as tourists. We will travel by bus due to
we may economize money, so we will drive off from Colombia, go through Ecuador and
get to Peru. Maybe we delay in reaching but, the positive thing is that we will enjoy the
beautiful landscapes through the bus window and we have to look out to all we`ll see.

I suggest that we should look for a cheap and comfortable hotel, and to economize eat out
and pick out a good restaurant. We are going to visit many interesting places in Peru, like:
Machu Pichu, Colca Canyon, and Chan Chan. So, each one of us would carry just the
necessary: personal care implements, identification, comfortable clothes and a good
camera to take photos.
In that places we can visit the ancient town of Incas and its amazing vestiges (Machu
Pichu), drink Pisco and work out along the trails. In Colca Canyon we could find an
incredible sight and look for the condors that are going to fly near to us. And we will visit
Chan Chan that is the largest city in pre-Columbian America.

Finally, each one of us will buy souvenirs for our friends and relatives in each place we
are going to visit. . In my case, for example, I can buy Alpaca sweaters to my parents,
Pisco beverage to my friends, carved gourds to my aunts and antiques to the others
relatives. I think that with all the gifts we will buy, we will cheer our friends and relatives
up!
