TEACHING PRACTICUM IN THE SCHOOL/INSTITUTION

enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT) program in Open University
Malaysia (OUM).

Professional experience is an integral part of OUM’s PGDT programme, so in addition to

their study, our students are required to complete the school/institution practicum
requirement. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate if you allow the student to undertake the
practicum in your school/institution.

As part of program requirement, OUM seeks your assistance in the following matters:

 The student is required to teach subject at a level agreed upon by the school and the
student. Based on their prior teaching experience, students are placed under three
modes. Please refer to the table on the next page for details of the different modes and
the mandated duration for each mode.

 The school should appoint a qualified co-teacher to supervise and mentor the student
for the duration of the practicum.

 Complete Form A confirming your acceptance of the student and the requirements.

professional teachers.
