Perfect Pass
Standard 1: Demonstrates competency in motor skills and patterns needed to
perform a variety of activities.

Objective
● Students will practice the correct way to throw and catch playing the game
“Perfect Pass”
○ Students can use an overhead throw, underhand throw, or chest pass
Ocean Rescue
Underhand throwing/catching

PE2.1 The physically educated student demonstrates competency in a variety of


motor skills and movement patterns.
PE2.2 The physically educated student applies the knowledge of concepts,
principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance.
Objectives:
Students will practice the skills of throwing and catching.
Game Set Up
Scatter Hula Hoops inside the volleyball court or 5-10 ft inside the basketball
ball court.

BEACH outside the basketball court boundaries


Rules

A ship has sunk and survivors are floating in the ocean waiting to be rescued.
*students in the hula hoops.

The rest of the class are tasked with the job of rescuing the survivors. They are
allowed to go anywhere around the gym outside the basketball court
boundaries (beach) to underhand toss or overhead throw a ball to one of the
survivors. If the survivor catches the ball they are rescued and go to the beach
where they begin to try and rescue survivors. Survivors must keep both feet in
the hula hoop when catching the ball/item.
