ETHICS

Ethics and morals are two terms that are frequently used interchangeably. They are two
distinct ideas, though. The primary distinction between these two is that while morals refer to an
individual's own principles regarding right and wrong, ethics refers to rules provided by an outside
source. To be specific, morality is the principles on which we base our concept of right and wrong
that are based on our conscience, unrelated to professional work, and are heavily influenced by
our religion and how we grew up as a person. On the other hand, ethics is also a basis of right
and wrong that is dictated by a profession, field, government, or community. This concept is more
uniform as it obligates people to succumb to it, while morality is a choice every person has a
unique perspective on. Most of the time, the ethics in a community align with a person's morality.
However, sometimes they contradict. For instance, a lawyer's professional ethics require him to
believe in his client and defend them until they are proven guilty, even though doing so may run
counter to his moral principles. In this kind of situation, the distinction between ethics and morals
becomes evident.

information about the patient although it may cause harm to the patient or somebody
else.
Ethics refers to the standards or code of conduct set by people in a specific group in
society. For professionals, these are the sets of rules and behaviors that are expected in their
field of work. If I had to make the decision as a student of medical technology, I would put
ethics above morality. In this line of work, we deal with actual human lives, so any decisions
we make must be made with the utmost objectivity.A decision that is influenced by our
emotions might put our patients at risk or even our license to practice. It is wiser to follow the
ethics laid out by specialists that are processed scientifically and legally. Their experience
and expertise ensures safer and more trustworthy advice. In this line of work that requires
accuracy and efficency, our judgment requires not only our basic understanding of good and
bad but also proven scientific facts to support our course of action.

I am prepared to make decisions based on the oath I signed up for. However, at the end
of the day, I am still a human being. Although I will always uphold professional ethics in the
medical field, it will not reach the extent that I have to abandon all of my moral principles.
