DESCRIBE AN IMPORTANT PLANT IN YOUR COUNTRY YOU

SHOULD SAY:
What the plant is
Where and how it is grown Why you like or dislike it
And explain why it is important to your country.

Well, speaking of the important type of plant in my country, It would be hands down the rice
plant, which is one of the main agricultural cereal grains in Vietnam.
So basically, Rice has been grown for, you know, thousands of years. The most prominent
irrigated rice system is the Mekong Delta in southern, which is popularly known as the "Rice
Bowl". It is also grown in the Red River Delta in the northern part .I don’t know if people
know this fact that most rice in Vietnam is wet-rice, I mean it is grown in flooded fields
rather than dry land.and If you go to the countryside when the paddy is in season, you will
find this plant dancing with the wind.
The paddy plant is actually, a thin, medium side plant, and its leaves and body are green, my
memory serves my right . The seed is green at the beginning and becomes yellow when it is
ripe /raɪp/ and It takes up to 6 months to grow from seeds to mature plants, depending on the
variety and environmental conditions. So the ideal environment for it is in fertile /ˈfɜː.taɪl/
land with a good supply of water and sunlight.
It is undoubtable that most of Vietnamese people still depend on the cultivation of rice to earn
their living. You know, Vietnam is one of the top five largest rice producing countries and
Given the fact that we want to become the best  exporter worldwide.
Rice is a staple of the national diet and is seen as a "gift from God".Children , you know, get
used to eating rice from an early age. I reckon that No rice in a meal, the old generation, or
even I, would feel like a fish out of water. Interestingly, there are two types of , you know,
Vietnamese cuisine are famous, especially during the new year holiday celebration called Tet.
They obviously take up to 12 hours to cook in boiling water. Banh chung is made from
glutinous rice stuffed with mung beans, pork. The other is Banh tet which is much the same
but cut in a circular form. For the new year’s celebration, families, you know, will reunite to
make and then eat these special symbolic food.
To cut a long story short, It would not be an exaggeration that rice plant has played a really
important role in Vietnamese culture, and many ceremonies originate from farmer’ hopes for
an abundant crop. Paddy field is the first thing that I will recommend someone visit when
they come to Vietnam.
That is kind of my take on Describe an important plant in my country.

DESCRIBE AN IMPORTANT PLANT IN YOUR COUNTRY
You should say:
What it is
What it looks like
Where and how it is grown/Where it is found
Why you like or dislike it
And explain why it is important

“Vietnam is in no short supply /sə'plai/ of beautiful, unique-looking trees and what I’m going to
tell you about today is the cherry blossom tree.
So as you can see, when Tet is around the corner and preparation /ˌprep.ərˈeɪ.ʃən/ is in full swings,
which means the cherry blossom is ubiquitous /juːˈbɪk.wɪ.təs/. When it comes to the ultimate
/ˈaltimət / plant, it’s the cherry blossom, the undisputed/ˌʌn.dɪˈspjuː.tɪd/ king that reigns  /reɪns/
supreme /suːˈpriːm/.
The popular English translation /trænzˈleɪʃn/ for ‘Cay Dao’ is obviously /'ɔbviəsli/ cherry blossom,
but the variety commonly found in Vietnam. I think, is actually more akin /əˈkɪn/ to peach blossom.
Cherry blossoms, on the other hand, are more common in Japan. The biggest difference between
cherry blossom and peach blossom is that, in our peach blossom in Vietnam, the blossom’s size is
usually smaller. And another thing is that the shade /ʃeid/ range of peach blossoms in Vietnam is
much more diverse  /dai'və:s/ compared to Sakura in Japan. I mean in Vietnam, we have peach
blossoms that are light in pink and then there are those that are blushier  /blʌʃiə/ . However, Japan
Sakura /sakura/ blossoms are usually very pale /peil/  in color, and some of them are even straight-
up white. So you know, regardless of biology /baɪˈɒl.ə.dʒi/ or should I say botanical /bəˈtæn.ɪ.kəl/
correctness /kəˈrekt.nəs/ , one thing’s for sure. All cherry blossom trees are undeniably /ˌʌn.dɪ
ˈnaɪ.ə.bli/  beautiful.
Besides the flowers, another key component  /kəmˈpəʊ.nənt/ that is fastidiously /fæsˈtɪd.i.əs.li/
inspected by seasoned buyers of cherry blossom is the buds /bʌds / .The ones with lots of buds go
for a pretty penny /ˈpeni/, especially given how hot the weather has become and that has caused
cherry blossoms to blossom prematurely /prem.əˈtʃʊə.li/ . The abundance /əˈbʌn.dəns/  of buds
/bʌds / ensures  /ɪnˈʃɔːrz/  that the owner gets to enjoy his purchase.
Well into the holiday, the blossoming of the cherry blossom tree, or more precisely /prɪˈsaɪs.li/ the
peach blossom tree, coincides /ˌkəʊ.ɪnˈsaɪdz/ with the first days of spring. So in that sense, the tree
kind of represents the start of something new, something exciting. So if you want to liven up your
living room or your house in Tet holiday season, getting a cherry blossom tree is the way to go.“

DO PEOPLE IN VIETNAM LIKE TO GROW PLANTS AT HOME?
The way I see it, if not all then most residents in my country would love to incorporate a green zone
into the living space. For one thing, they want fresh air and decoration. I mean they want to add
vitality to the houses by planting flowers and evergreens, for example, in hanging baskets or
window boxes, or maybe on the balcony, or in the garden. For another thing, a lot of people,
especially elderly people, as you can see, would love to commune with nature so they can find
peace of mind.
HOW DO SCHOOLS TEACH STUDENTS TO GROW PLANTS?
In my opinion, the first thing, which is also the most fundamental thing, to be taught is the
knowledge of horticulture, I mean how to grow seeds, water and fertilize plants, for example. And
also schools should enhance the importance of tree planting so that they can raise students'
awareness.
HOW CAN SCHOOLS DO ALL OF THOSE THINGS?
One very effective method, in my opinion, is to make tree planting an important lesson.
In other words, it should be added to the curriculum.
Besides, I think it would be very engaging to run extracurricular activities
where students are encouraged to take care of flowers in the schoolyard, for example.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN PLANTS IN VIETNAM?
Well, as you can see, Vietnam as an agricultural country has a diversity of plants
First off, I shouldn't forget to talk about crops, particularly rice, because
it's s staple crop in my country. Rice is known as not only a subsistence crop or
As you know, Vietnam is one of the world's chief exporters of rice.
Then, I shouldn't forget to talk about industrial plants
You know, things like rubber, coffee, cashew etc. together with a wide range of
herbs and many other kinds of vegetables in fact.
That's all. If you still have time, if you can speak fluently, then you can talk about this.
Last but not least, I want to introduce some plants with symbolic meanings,
such as the bamboo and lotus - the national flower of my country.
