Because of the increasing tendency for employees to work longer and longer hours,

many people are of the opinion that this has a very negative on both workers, their
family and the society. Considering the extension of working hours, I totally agree
that companies should limit working time but for its disadvantage.
First and foremost, employees spend much more their time working. Instead of
working eight hours per day, they even have to work twelve hours each day
although there are many apperances of developed equipments. This damages
against one’s physical condition and mental health that overworked workers tend
to suffer from stress, anxiety and lack of sleep, etc. Therefore, should workers still
be afforded long working hours, they will tend to be less productive, and at great
risks of sickness and absenteeism.
Another point to consider is that working overtime has adverse impact on not only
theirself but also their family and the general public. With regard to their family,
there is often a significant increase in parent-child conflict, a less cohesive familial
bond. The reason is that workers tend to be deprived of time for their family such
as taking frequent family vocations or even just having meals together. On the
social level, overworked employees can rarely participate in social activities which
results in breakdown in the society.
To sum up, working long hours can get the destructive effect on both employees
and their family, the society. It,therefore,is so necessary for companies to limit
working time of workers.
