Famous American
Lapbook
Lapbooks are a fun way to present new information learned
about a particular subject or person. I’ve provided templates and
photos to help in completing the project.

These templates can be colored or printed on colored paper.

1.  Body Outline – Students can color and add to the outline to
make the person studied.
2.  Cover text, graphic and speech bubble
3.  Envelope – Students can write a short letter to the person
they are researching.
4.  Sequence of important events
5.  Banner for heading
6.  Accomplishments
7.  Early years
8.  If I were famous… - Write about yourself if you were famous.
9.  Pop-up card – optional to use with lapbook. Students can do
this as a separate activity.
10.  Did you know? – Fun facts about the person
11.  Family

-  Students can color and add their information to the templates

before they glue them to the folder. (I like to use colored manila
folders.)
-  Glue templates to the folders. I glued the envelope to the back
of the folder.
-  Add additional clipart or photos to fill in blank spaces on the
folder.
-  Use Creative Commons to locate more photos for the lapbook.
