Summary of the study

This research is about the analysis of the frequency spectra of impact sounding test performed on
composite slabs with different interlayer condition. Appropriate interlayer bonding is essential to
achieve the long-term durability of the asphalt concrete (AC)- Portland cement concrete (PCC) bridge
deck pavement. From the impact signals, they observed two things which are the distinct and consistent
characteristics of the frequency spectra. Result for bonding condition at varying temperature also been
investigated. To observe the different bonding condition in the field, result of the experiment was been
compared. A decision matrix analysis was proposed and it was successfully identified the interface
bonding condition.

Objectives of the study

 To analyze of the frequency spectra of impact sounding test performed on composite slabs with
different interlayer condition.
 To identify the interlayer condition between concrete bridge deck and asphalt pavement using
sounding tests

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the study is to compare and find a solution toward the bonding between pavement
layers because it is an important factor for long term performance of asphalt concrete (AC) pavements
and for the durability of bridge deck slabs.

Finding of the study

In this study, to identify the interlayer condition between concrete bridge deck and asphalt pavement
using sounding tests was been proposed by using a simple and direct approach. From the extensive
laboratory and field experiments result it was observed that peak amplitude and peak frequency of
sounding data in frequency domain were good parameters for determining interlayer bonding condition.
The decision matrix approach that been presented in the study shows that overall analysis of data
clustering of points resulted in four different zones which can describe the interlayer conditions. The
proposed analysis was capable of detecting intermediate conditions interlayer, which emphasized the
transition of damage in interlayer section.

Knowledge management

Summary of the study

This study is about knowledge workers who wants to apply knowledge visualization. They have to
determine which visualization tool is suitable for their needs. A systematic approach was presented to
solve this sophisticated problem to support knowledge workers that matches typical tasks in knowledge
management to visualization techniques that support these tasks. They been provided with a three-
dimensional decision matrix that enables them to easily identify a suitable visualization technique for a
certain knowledge problem.

Objectives of the study

 To determine which visualization tool is suitable for knowledge workers as they want to apply
this approach.

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the study is to systematically evaluate and identify adequate visualization techniques a
set of evaluation criteria is introduced so that it can improve the creation and transfer of knowledge
between at least two persons.

Finding of the study

To support knowledge manager in choosing a suitable visualization technique for a certain problem of
knowledge management, a multi-dimensional decision matrix was been introduced. The method has
saved them time in choosing what is the best to use without having to perform complicated and time-
consuming analysis due to the simple and easy tool. A small number of knowledge management
instruments and visualization techniques was been demonstrated by using 3D decision matrix concept.
This method can be extended easily by simple adding additional rows and columns for each additional
knowledge management instrument or visualization technique. Due to this flexibility the decision matrix
can grow and evolve to a comprehensive tool.

Summary of the study

The study is about chemical industrial that may be a potential target for deliberate actions by terrorists.
The terrorists are knowing well enough about the chemical process operation and plant layout where
which will give them advantages and causes a major event such as fire, explosion and toxic gas
dispersion with cross-border consequences in chemical clusters since they can improvise the explosive
devices itself. Thus, this research is proposing an efficient cluster-wise emergency plan to enhance the
promptness and efficacy of responding to such attack in crucial.

Objectives of the study

 To determine the emergency level of each company within the cluster based on the attack
outcomes and its potentiality in triggering domino scenarios are analyzed.

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the study is to came out with efficient cluster-wise emergency plan to enhance the
promptness and efficacy of respond to attacks in crucial.

Finding of the study

The study shows that the chemical industrial is a critical target when improvised explosive devices has
been focused by the terrorist. Chemical weapons give such a big impact not just to the person who has
been attacked but it also may affect several neighboring facilities, the whole cluster and even the nearby
communities. In order to help emergency responders and security decision makers within the chemical
cluster an efficient cluster-wise decision tool, comprising a decision tree and decision matrices, was
developed that determines the emergency and alert levels at each company. The potential action of an
individual could adopt to prepare for and respond to a terrorist attack was been identified by each
emergency level that been experimented.

Summary of the study

One major concern in corporate e-Learning and is critical when projects face financial and time to
market constraints is effectiveness. In order to manage more efficiently diverse e-Learning Projects,
many organizations and universities institutions seek methodologies and tools to help them. This paper
describes the outcome of a case study on the assessment of the effectiveness of an eLearning project,
from sixteen different corporations in the context of insurance and banking industry in Portugal. This
paper will present a new tool, the Learning Officer Decision Matrix, which will contribute to a more
efficient management of corporate e-Learning projects.

Objectives of the study

 To present a result on the application of the methodology proposed by Levy for the assessment
of the effectiveness of e-Learning systems.

Purpose of the study

This paper will present a new tool, the Learning Officer Decision Matrix, which will contribute to a more
efficient management of corporate e-Learning projects.

Finding of the study

Results showed that the Global LeVIS of the e-Learning system under study reached a score of 0.781 and
therefore should be classified as “highly effective”. Managers can replicate the proposed procedure in
order to gain more intelligibility on their own projects and mainly to manage more efficiently corporate
e-Learning systems and eLearning projects. The Learning Officer Decision Matrix (LODM) was developed
specifically for asynchronous eLearning Project, though it can be adapted for other types of e-Learning
and/or blended Learning projects. Further research with larger and more diverse typologies of e-
Learning projects is required in the future to strengthen the research findings.

Summary of the study

This study is about the decision-theoretic where it is a generalized probabilistic model for the expression
of uncertainties and the representation of knowledge from data. Decision theoretic can give a semantic
explanation and systematically computation of probabilistic thresholds to define probabilistic rough set
approximation. The purpose is to define probabilistic rough set approximation, which offers a ternary
classification framework based on Bayesian decision theory.

Objectives of the study

 To study incremental decision-theoretic rough set approach for evolving data

Purpose of the study

In practice, data for decision making process resides in a dynamic database whose data is typically
evolving through the periodical or occasional updating. To address this issue, incremental learning
appeared to be a feasible solution for continuous knowledge modeling from evolving data with the
incorporation of unlearned knowledge embedded in the updating data

Finding of the study

Finding of the study give us the approach to compute probabilistic rough set approximations in DTRS
was obtained by using matrix operations, which may contribute to widen the practical applications of
DTRS with more flexible computation. considering that static method can only use data available before
computing begins, which results in the fail of efficient learning in the presence of significant variation of
data. They developed incremental algorithms for computing probabilistic rough set approximations from
evolving data with the addition of new data and the deletion of obsolete data.
