To whom it may concern.

In 2010 WEG changed their design for IEC motors from W21 (old) into W22 (new) for the
European market.
When this change was made, the design of the motors also changed. There were design
changes that resulted in some cases that the bearings for a certain frame size changed.

This is also the case for framesize 132.

In the W21 line, the NDE bearing was a 6308 type.
In the W22 line, the NDE bearing is of the 6207 type.

This means that motors that are supplied since 2010 are equipped with 6207 bearings as a
standard. Applying 6308 on the NDE side is no longer possible in the new W22 line.

The difference between W21 and W22 are too numerous to write down. W22 is the improved
version of W21.

See here for W21 catalogue (for Indian market):

And here for W22 catalogue:

motors-european-market-50019474-brochure-english-web.pdf

W21 and W22 are interchangeable as motors since both lines are designed according to the
same norms and directives, however their parts are not interchangeable.

The 6308/C2SQ77 can not be replaced by a 6207HC5/C3 bearing. Their physical dimensions
are not the same.
