Printing hint and tips

To get the best from your download, this product should be printed at a high printer resolution on
good quality photo matte or similar paper for best results. We recommend using at least a 120gsm
or 160gsm white paper which is suitable for your type of printer. Ink bleed can occur when using
normal 80gsm copier or printer paper, and final results can be poor. We sell heavier paper in small
quantities from our website.

Because of the water based nature of inkjet printer ink, it is best to give the printed sheet a thin
covering of either an inkjet fixative or matt spray varnish. This will help to protect the printed
surface whilst you are building your model. You may also be able to revoke spare or excessive
adhesive from the printed face.

It is also possible to print these sheets onto good quality self adhesive printer labels. Be sure to use
one to a page labels.

These sheets can be stuck to your chosen card material using many of the propriety adhesives
available. We have tried contact adhesives, PVA glues and glue sticks and have had good results
from many. Again it pays to use a good brand name adhesive. Superglues are a real no no. They are
easily absorbed into the paper and will spoil the print out. Care should be taken when using PVA
type glues as they are also water based, and if excessive glue is applied it will soak through the
paper. What ever adhesive you use, be sure to follow the instructions and allow to dry before
moving on to the next stage.

Once complete your model can be given a further coat of the same fixative. You should now be able
to add light weathering to your model without damaging the printed surface.
