this chapter

The majority of police photography is used to capture images of crime scenes and injuries.
Consequently, it is often known as forensic photography or photography at crime scenes. More
specifically, forensic photography refers to the practice of documenting a crime scene or any
other object for court presentation.

By documenting the original site and surrounding surroundings, crime scene photography serves
to offer a true and accurate record of the crime scene and tangible evidence that was present.

The visual documentation of many elements that can be found at a crime scene is referred to as
forensic photography. Physical evidence that is either discovered at a crime scene or that has
already been processed in a lab may be included, as well as the documentation of the crime
scene.
