10 GUITAR STUDIES TO BOOST

YOUR ALTERNATE PICKING TECHNIQUE

Ex.4

Here is a very challenging combination!

I am playing 2 notes per string over "C" Major, I am using the alternate picking
technique over the root, 9th, 6th and the 5th; when it changes to "F" I play over
the "F" Lydian scale leading back to "C" Major, where I play the arpeggio of the
"C" Major triad. For the second part of the study I play a combination of
arpeggios, following the progression like "F" over 2 strings, "C" over 3 strings,
"G7" over 2 strings, and during the half tempo change between "C" and "C7" I
use a combination of 2 string "C" Major triad, finishing the lick with "C7"
Mixolydian Pentatonic scale.

About the performance, as you can see I am picking from my wrists now; for me,
it is more natural to pick from the wrist over triads or licks over 2 strings.
