There are reports in the Old Testament Bible of people walking and talking with
God but not dwelling with Him. 

EXODUS 25:1 – 9

Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, that they


bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you
shall take My offering. 3 And this is the offering which you shall take from them:
gold, silver, and bronze; 4 blue, purple, and scarlet thread, fine linen, and
goats’ hair; 5 ram skins dyed red, [b]badger skins, and acacia wood; 6 oil for the
light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense; 7 onyx stones,
and stones to be set in the ephod and in the breastplate. 8 And let them make Me
a sanctuary,[c] that I may dwell among them. 9 According to all that I show
you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just
so you shall make it.

 The first object you meet as you enter is the altar of sacrifice
 Sacrifice and death

 10 is the number of responsibility

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE

 Animals are sacrificed on this altar


 The experience of the power of the blood

DYING ON THE ALTAR

 Guilt
 Condemnation
 Judgment
 Inferiority
 Accusations
 “everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My
offering”
 This happens when there is a willingness, a longing and a thirst for the presence
of God
 Living sacrifice is from a willing heart; yet mandatory to anyone who wants to be
holy
 The fire was lit by God

BLOOD ON THE ALTER

 FORGIVENESS – Ephesians 1:7 - He is so rich in kindness and grace that he


purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

 CLEANSING – John 1:7 - But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light,
then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
cleanses us from all sin.
 JUSTIFICATION - Romans 5:9 - Much more then, having now been justified by
His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
