development; the development of motivational beliefs. Refer to at least three types of mediators in
your explanation and provide supporting research evidence.

SUPERVISION
i.  How does social context influence motivation and higher order cognition for learning? Consider
cultural practices (and associated tools) as well as communicative social interaction patterns in
your answer. 

ii.  Critically evaluate the importance of what is understood as 'good performance' in a


classroom for facilitating student motivation. Include in your answer aspects of epistemic beliefs,
goal orientations and self-determination theories.
