Philippines: Fuel prices rise for the 12th time

Dolomite Beach Transformation: How It is
Helping People Living in Urban Areas?

Recently, the Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach had a
transformation. From its first year of public opening in Sep-
tember 2020, experts and citizens expressed criticism on how
the artificial sand used for the tourist attraction, was observed
as a potential threat to the environment. Now, when the tourist
attraction has had time to improve, starting from June 12
2022, it was again opened publicly for the visitors and little to
no backlash was expressed this time.
However, since the Manila Dolomite Beach is located
in an urban area, most visitors would be coming from near
surrounding places, in which their insights are crucial on im-
proving the project in terms of its effects environmentally.
During an interview of 24 Oras segment, they asked
a few from the crowd, 'We are really excited to enter the Do-
lomite, we do not need to go to Boracay as this [Manila Bay-
walk Dolomite Beach] is just nearby.', said one of the visitors
who was waiting for the entrance of Manila Baywalk to open.

like the white sand beauty of Boracay is truly more conven-
ient for the people who live in urban areas, in this way, they
may not need to take a trip all the way to far beaches just to
take a peek.

insights into the improved Dolomite Beach, 'Because we are
struggling to pay a visit to far mesmerizing water bodies, we
can go here [Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach] instead, we
can arrive here with just two jeepney rides.', she delightfully

The opinions were stated as if they are financially and
socially related circumstances which most people in the city
area continue to face.
Criticisms are more positively expressed, es-
pecially from those who live nearby the attraction. People
who are situated in urban areas and can not afford to go to
provincial capitals are benefiting from this project, which was
also prepared for Filipinos' mental health condition as the old

The Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach has received

Implementing ‘Angat Buhay NGO’ on July 1

Vice President Leni Robredo announced launching Angat
Buhay NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) during her
thanksgiving gathering event last May 13, 2022 at the Ateneo
de Manila University.
With the huge volunteering spirit that her office and campaign
have sparked, Vice President Leni Robredo revealed her in-
tends to launch the country's "widest" volunteer center. Robre-
do intends to turn the Office of the Vice President's (OVP) An-
gat Buhay program into a non-governmental organization
(NGO) in order to provide greater assistance to Filipinos in
need.

by volunteer efforts throughout her vice presidency, stating,
