2 DIFFERENT ECOSYSTEMS :
RICE PADDY :
Rice paddy is an ancient agricultural place in Malaysia responsible
of producing rice ,it’s one of the most important staple foods
(rice)in the world.
What’s different about this ecosystem is the fact that is it is farmed
by people which means that not all ecosystems are natural.
After a period of the year full of raining , the paddy are flooded with
water which causes the grow and appearence of the algae on the
mud at the sides of the flooded areas.
Farmers add fertiliser to the paddy to have better results but this
action impact the algae and make it grow faster which causes a
problem for the farmers.
As any ecosystem, rice paddy provide to organisms food and
habitat as an example :
 Fish swim into the flooded paddies using the irrigation
canals
 Paddy rice ecosystems provide staple food for most low-
income and middle-income countries in South and
Southeast Asia. Smallholder farmers produce about 80% of
rice, and most of it is consumed locally.
 Many birds feeds from the paddy fieleds (Spotbill duck,
Lesser Whistling duck and the Greater Painted snipe)
Because of the shallow water, it’s heat up during the day and
cools down during the night to suit any organism needs
(temperature).
